Essaha Aziza is a support program for the health sector financed by the European Union (EU) and governed by the Ministry of Health. Since2021, the second phase has been based on a European grant of 50,000,000 Euros and the Essaha Aziza program now covers the entire territory of Tunisia.

The challenge
In Tunisian Health System, there is problems with the accessibility of equipment, the organization of establishments and the management of health.
The solution
Support from the main experts of the program divided into three poles, covering the 24 governorates of the country, will support the action of the Regional Health Directorates (DRS) and disseminate good practices with the help of a network of actors in the field (peers), responsible for leading the implementation teams in the field.
The training distributed to all health personnel supports the implementation of new practices and the achievement of quality, accessibility, equity and efficiency objectives. These programs standardized by the Central Executive Training Unit (UCFC) will be carried out by regional training structures and local resources to intervene as closely as possible to the actors, they will use distance learning solutions whenever appropriate.
The expertise that will be called upon to develop throughout the territory to produce the recommendations necessary for the generalization of the program and to put in place the organizations and procedures that ensure the sustainability of progress.
The digitization of the health information system will be developed by the team of the Ministry of Health, supported by international expertise and will have to use the best standards and solutions available on the market.
The strengthening of emergencies will be the subject of specific expertise to support the team of actors concerned towards a reorganization project that is based on the experience, achievements and investments of Essaha Aziza I.
Equipment: phase II provides for an additional 43 million euros in equipment to strengthen the front line and support the improvement projects proposed by health structures and pilots in order to improve front line care and the organization of care between the three levels of the system.
